[Finished] Redemption (BTS - Mafia AU)
  • Yeonjun
  • Our crew arrived at the old train station a few minutes before our meeting time. The night was quiet except for the few whispers from our people. The night sky was clear, stars shining brightly.
  • I looked over at Hanuel who stood tall and proud. She stood in her black, leather clothes. She wore her usual jacket that I loved along with her combat boots. Her hair was up in a tight pony tail which always made her look even more intimidating. Attached to her back was her trusty sword. She definitely looked her part.
  • My hand went back to touch my own sword that she had just gifted me with earlier today. I still could hardly believe what I was seeing. I had felt my heart race because it was not just any gift. This meant she saw potential in me. It meant she believed in me. Even more, she admitted to loving me and every little brother wants his sister’s love. Our relationship, although different and complicated is not that far away from others.
  • ‘You okay?’ she asked as the two of us stood next to each other. I looked at her and nodded as I stopped touching my own sword.
  • ‘I’m fine. You?’ I asked and she gave me a simple nod. She looked focused and I knew better than push her buttons right now.
  • ‘Incoming. Three cars and a large container,’ I heard Yoongi say, another reminder that they were watching us, that they had our backs.
  • She instantly stood straighter as we heard the cars approaching. The light was almost blinding as they came to a stop in front of us. All three cars were being opened as men piled out of them.
  • My eyes fell on a woman as she walked next to who I knew as Mr. Chan – the whole brain behind this deal. The woman stood tall and mighty in a black, tight dress and high heels. Her hair was long, straight and white and her neck was adorned by a diamond necklace.
  • Yet, my eyes fell on two things – the sword hanging on her back and the sword and rose tattoo on her shoulder. The woman smirked as her eyes fell on my sister. I looked at Hanuel who seemed tense but kept her cool.
  • ‘Well, well, well. I did not expect to see you Domina Umbra,’ the woman said as she interlinked her arms with Mr. Chan.
  • ‘I was not expecting to see you either, Domina Adamantem. It seems though as you’re now wearing your name,’ Hanuel replied but the woman clicked her tongue as she touched her necklace.
  • ‘I’ve always love diamonds and anything that shines brightly,’ she said.
  • ‘Sweetie, do you know Miss Choi?’ Mr. Chan asked as he pecked her cheek. Domina Adamantem smirked and almost shook her head in disgust.
  • ‘We’re old acquaintances. She’s a Scarlet, or used to be anyways. Now, she’s a traitor and Bangtan’s *,’ she said laughing. Mr. Chan’s face immediately hardened at this.
  • ‘You work for Bangtan?’ he asked as his men also moved. Their hands got ready on their guns and I was already reaching for my sword but she laughed.
  • ‘Oh please. Don’t you know Scarlets work for the highest bidder?’ she asked. Mr. Chan looked at her up and down, not entirely convinced. ‘I may be a runaway Scarlet but a Scarlet nonetheless. We work for the ones who pay us the most. If you think Domina Adamantem is with you for any other reason besides your money, you got it wrong pal,’ she said.
  • ‘Liar!’ Domina Adamantem said. ‘I know you Umbra. You’re loyal and good. You would never do something like this – like trafficking humans,’ she said.
  • ‘Rosa murdered my parents and left my little brother to die. That sort of thing messes up with your brain. You should know,’ my sister said.
  • I looked at her, trying to find any grasp of the sister I knew but right now all I saw was Domina Umbra and she was scary. She was cold and disconnected, almost cruel. She used whatever she had to, even our painful past if it meant getting things done.
  • My sister took a step forward, closing the space between them. ‘What the hell is she doing?’ I heard Hoseok grumble in our earpiece. I saw her lean closer to her as she whispered something to her.
  • I saw Domina Adamantem’s eyes wide and her face twist. Before I knew it, Adamantem screamed as she reached for her sword. Hanuel moved and took out her sword. She blocked her, the sword making a clanging sound. I quickly took out mine while the others took out their guns as did Mr. Chan’s men. In one swift move, Hanuel had Adamantem down to her knees and her sword against her neck.
  • ‘Mr. Chan, I came here to make a deal with you, not your tramp. Whether I work for Bangtan or not does not make a difference because this is a personal side project which they do not know about. So, are you going to show me what you brought me or shall I taint those pretty shoes of yours with her blood?’ Hanuel asked as she pressed the sword harder against her neck.
  • ‘Okay, okay. I will. Weng, go open the container,’ Mr. Chan said as he reached over for Adamantem. I saw Hanuel roll her eyes as she dropped her to the ground while Mr. Chan helped her up.
  • ‘Baby are you okay?’ Mr. Chan asked as he helped her to stand. Adamantem just nodded as she smirked a little.
  • ‘I see you’re still as sharp as ever,’ Adamantem said. ‘I still work for the Scarlets. We need you Umbra. Domina Vindicta has gone completely crazy,’ Adamantem said, suddenly changing completely, almost as if by magic.
  • ‘I can’t come back to that place,’ Hanuel said and Adamantem just sighed, almost as if she understood. Adamantem looked at her and nodded. We turned our attention back to the container where Weng was opening the door.
  • The moment my eyes found those people, I felt my stomach twist. I could have puked all I ate at what I saw. Women and children with barely any clothes, looking sickly and pale. They had bruises on them and dirt covered their skin. They all looked terrified, almost as if they could breathe.
  • Around me, I could hear some gasps. I looked back at Hanuel whose face had hardened. Her grip on the sword grew tighter before she turned around and had her sword at Mr. Chan’s neck.
  • She looked terrifying – there was almost no mercy in her eyes. Her hand did not tremble, it was steady. I could see how much she wanted to kill him, right there, in that spot and I could not blame her.
  • ‘Wh—what are you do—doing?’ Mr. Chan stuttered. Hanuel just scoffed and pressed hard – hard enough to draw blood from his neck.
  • ‘You’re a filthy, disgusting pig Mr. Chan. You don’t deserve to live. How can you play with human life for money?’ she asked, her voice scarily low. In fact, it was scarier than if she was screaming or yelling.
  • ‘Hanuel… careful. Do you want his blood on your hand?’ I heard Yoongi say in the earpiece. She scoffed and removed the earpiece as she threw it on the ground.
  • I sighed and turned as I looked back at Adamantem who had bent down and picked her sword. My heart skipped a beat, alarm raising in my mind.
  • ‘Hanuel look out,’ I warned her but Adamantem just chuckled.
  • ‘Don’t worry, little shadow. I won’t hurt your sister,’ Adamantem replied coldly. Hanuel looked at her, a small smirk on her face. It was almost as if they were communicating between them.
  • ‘Swe—sweetie what are you do—doing?’ Mr. Chan said, this time more scared than before. Suddenly, we heard the sound of more swords. I turned around and saw a number of Scarlets there, all of them holding Mr. Chan’s men.
  • ‘Did you really think I loved you jagi?’ Adamantem said in a mocking tone. She smiled as she put her own sword against his neck. ‘Being your partner was never the plan. Domina Vindicta did not send me to work with you or recruit girls,’ she said.
  • ‘What? What are you talking about? Are you really going to betray me after all I gave you?’ Mr. Chan roared but both women pressed their swords even more, cutting off his words.
  • ‘My mission, it was always to get you to trust me until I could get rid of you,’ Adamantem said.
  • ‘The Scarlets don’t care about filth like them!’ Mr. Chan yelled again.
  • ‘Wrong again. Domina Vindicta doesn’t. Real Scarlets, we care about doing the right thing without repercussions,’ Adamantem replied.
  • ‘Adamantem, do you really want to spill blood? Let the police handle him,’ Hanuel said as she put down her sword. I stood staring at her for a moment.
  • ‘What the * is going on right now?’ I heard Jimin comment through my own earpiece. I could not blame him because I could not understand myself.
  • ‘Umbra, I appreciate it but, this is my kill,’ Adamantem said as she suddenly turned and her sword slit right across Mr. Chan’s head. His body fell and his head rolled forward.
  • ‘Oh God,’ I said as I quickly covered my mouth with my free hand, trying to keep myself from puking my guts out. I heard a few gasps and I turned around, only to see Mr. Chan’s men fall down, one by one.
  • Adamantem stepped forward towards Hanuel. ‘Sorry for ruining your plan but you ruined mine first. Besides, we both know that although you’re the better fighter, I’m the colder one of the two of us,’ Adamantem said with a wink.
  • Hanuel smiled and shook her head as the other Scarlets came together. It was almost like a scene from some kind of movie. ‘It’s good to see all of you again and it’s good to see some people in that organization are standing up to Domina Vindicta’s reign,’ Hanuel said.
  • ‘We’re just paving the road for when the rightful successor comes. One day, you will not have a choice but to come back,’ Adamantem said.
  • ‘What are you saying Adamantem?’ Hanuel asked.
  • ‘Domina Vindicta still wants your head. I don’t know what she is planning but she has not forgotten. She has her eyes on you so be careful Umbra,’ Adamantem said.
  • I saw Hanuel stiffen at the warning. Another one of the Scarlets took a step forward. ‘When the time comes and you need our help, we will be there to follow you Domina Umbra,’ she said.
  • ‘Thank you for the warning. If the day comes, I will be ready for it. Now go before the cops show up. You kind of made a whole mess,’ Hanuel said.
  • ‘Oh don’t worry about that. Minister of Justice is the one who paid this job,’ Adamantem said with a wink as the girls all started putting on the hoods. Hanuel shook her head as the girls all disappeared into the night.
  • ‘What the hell did we just witness?’ I heard Hoseok say in the earpiece. I looked at Hanuel who wiped her sword and put it back on. She fixed her jacket and began to walk away, leaving a trail of dead bodies behind her.
